  Editor's comments:
Pacific's Poker is backed by one of the biggest companies in all of online gaming. There was a time when their propietary software was not up to speed with the competition but they have continually improved their product and are one of the more experienced poker sites in the industry. They have also made great strides in the customer service department where they now rank one of the best. The overall site traffic has been left low since U.S. players were banned which is the site's biggest drawback and reason for
4.0 of 5.0 score..

Full Review

Pacific Poker is actually a nice little site. It has been upgraded over the last year or so, and all aspects of online poker seem to be improved. There are more table options, game playing types, player options, and deposit and withdrawal options. Pacific Poker has become an smooth and easy online poker room.

Deposit/Withdrawal Methods

The minimum deposit at Pacific Poker is $30 in US funds. The maximum differs greatly with the method you use for your deposit. The methods of deposit also differ from country to country. Listed below are some of the payment options:

There are a few options for worldwide credit cards. (Visa, MasterCard, EuroCard, Diners Club) For their worldwide members, Credit/Charge Card Deposits are instantly placed into your account. Debit cards work the same way. Pacific Poker has different pay options from all over the world, including China, UK, Brazil, Japan, Europe (France, Germany, Spain, etc), Mexico, Singapore and more. All countries’ have available debit and credit options, as well as checks from personal bank accounts, and Bank Transfer Deposits can also be used. Canadian members have telephone checking options, as well as normal cards. There are so many options for all the different countries that it would take me more than 2 pages of text to list them all. Unless you are a US resident, or live there right now, you can definitely find a payment option that is secure, quick, reliable and easy. US citizens and residents are not allowed to play at Pacific Poker. Some of the popular E-Wallet sites are also available for use. (ClickandBuy, ACTeCASH, FirePay, and Moneybookers are just a few of options)

Level of Competition

Pacific Poker is well known for their loose and speedy play, as the software upgrades, fast decision making, and groups of fly by the seat of your pants players has built its own reputation. Pacific Poker is highly recommended for those Hold’em players who enjoy a loose environment, and or want to take advantage of that style of play. Overall, I enjoyed the time I spent playing here. The games are claimed to be very juicy, and indeed they are. Pacific Poker’s casino operation courts a high number of gamblers, and they are mostly a group of people who gamble for the enjoyment of the game, which always makes for a fun and profitable experience.

Limits/Game Selection

Limits and rates can be found via the lobby. The limits are the same for every game on PacificPoker.com which makes finding the right game for you much easier. Limits begin with $0.05/$0.10 games and increase steadily to and through $75/$150. At each game option, there are at least 12 limit possibilities, making it easy to find a limit that suits you. Low level tables have a very generous rake, while the loose play makes for easy profits – thus many experts acclaim the value there.

The Game selection isn’t grand by any means, but if you like Hold’Em, you’ll easily find a table for you. Along with just good old regular Texas Hole’Em, you’ll also find Omaha Hi, Omaha H/L, 7 Card Stud, and 7 Card Stud H/L. All games have an array of limits.

The No-Limit and Pot-Limit cash games come highly recommended for players looking to have a good chance at winning pots – and who doesn’t like that? At Pacific Poker 's Limit Hold'em  full ring cash games, the viewed-flop percentage is often in the 55-65% range! And the No-Limit speak for themselves. Check them out! They are some of the juiciest and loosest games online. Special promotions offered by the site include money-added tournaments, satellites to live events, and freerolls.

Software/Graphics

The new design at Pacific Poker has many admiring the site. The table is large and easy to see while the colorful playing cards and unique 3D avatars make the game play pleasing to the eye. The new and improved lobby for both tournament and cash play, has improvements in both security and presentation. Players can resize the gaming window and the navigation and different table options make the site very easy to navigate. Pacific Poker runs smoothly, and rarely is their any sort of hold up in the action, aside from when you wait out a bluff from an opponent. For those after an even faster experience, turbo tables are available. One very nice function that stands out from other poker sites is the graphic replay of hands, a useful tool for reviewing your play. Real-money player statistics as of July 2007 show 2,700 ring-game players at peak hours, and 10,000 tournament players at peak hours. More upgrades at Pacific Poker include improved search functions and layout, integrated casino and bingo, an always-visible cashier, and improved multi-tabling abilities with up to 4 tables tiled or cascaded at one time.

Traffic/Availability

This site can’t be measured on the same scale as current industry leaders, but at the wee hours of a Tuesday morning (4:27 AM EST) there were 2138  players on 518  tables. That’s not a bad number for a non-US site at that time of night. Pacific Poker is run by the hugely popular casino:  Casino on Net. Pacific Poker has plenty of advertising power, as they run their own events that gather a large number of online players. There is very little waiting time for the tables you want, and the events that are taking place.

General Information

Pacific Poker is operated by Cassava Enterprises (Gibraltar) Limited, a member of the Interactive Gaming Council since 1997. Pacific Poker has toll free help numbers for the UK, Germany, Australia and 17 other countries. Live chat support and email support is also offered. All support is generally answered swiftly and accurately. My personal questions were answered the day I sent them out. Cash out however can take a few days to process and clear.

Cassava Enterprises operates under a license granted by the Government of Gibraltar. Their Customer Support Team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They offer assistance in 11 different languages by phone, email and live online chat. The 888 Group has other offices around the world and employs over 880 full time members of staff.

Like I said earlier, many experts claim the low limit games at Pacific Poker to be terrific value as the players tend to be loose and the rake is low. For $0.05/$0.10 games the maximum rake is 6 cents. For the $25/$50 cent game the rake is capped at $0.30 cents. Both limits provide excellent value for new poker players. For the $0.5/$1 and $1/$2 games the rake tops out at $1.25, which is also a better value than most other sites. For games above the $1/$2 range, the rake is a standard 5 per cent capped at $3.

Of the 10,000+ readers of InsideEdge, PokerPlayer and Total Gambler magazines, the votes were cast, and 888.com was voted Online Casino of the Year for 2006.

Since Casino-on-Net’s official launch in 1997, more than 26 million people have experienced Casino-on-Net's unique gaming action, making it the largest online gaming venue in the world.

Bonus Money

As of my writing of this review, Pacific Poker had a standing offer of a 25% bonus up to $100 on your first deposit.

Pacific Poker has a cool competition called PokerProForAYear – which not only gives away a $50,000 Grand Prize plus over $100,000 in other prizes, but gives the winner a chance to be a pro for a year, sponsoring the winner in 4 Main Events in 2008. The league is year long, with the winner becoming a professional.

Some other bonus events are:
    * Six $5000 PokerNews Cup Freerolls!
    * €3000 Grand Casino World Freeroll – July 15!
    * Weekly $75,000 Guaranteed – Play for a share of $75,000 every week.
    * Aussie Millions Qualifier – Win an $11,000 package
    * $25,000 Guaranteed Money Monday – Played weekly
    * Invite a friend – You get $150, they get $50.

Another recent exclusive bonus gave 60% up to a $100 deposit bonus. Players must simply wager 20 times the bonus amount in order to withdraw the extra cash.

A couple bonus game options available at Pacific Poker:
Comp Points - Earn bonus points while you play, for every bet placed into a raked hand players can earn comp points. These points can be converted into cash and used for more play or simply withdrawn.

Game History - A fast way to view all your Pacific Poker transactions. Very useful for those who keep detailed records.

Player Notes - An easy to use notes facility is essential for many players, Pacific have come up with a good notes facility here.

All in all, the Pacific Poker experience is fun and easy, and the site has loads of user friendly options that not only help you become a better poker player, but also give you plenty of options in your game play.
